I have recently started going to bed early, like 10 pm. I used to think that was way to early to go to bed unless you had to be up at the crack of dawn for work. I have found that to not be true. Waking up early and being able to get ready for work slowly is great, having time to wake up and relax as I get ready is so much better. My entire day seems to go better. ,
Lead Teacher
December 14, 2008On December 1st I became the lead teacher in my 3 year old classroom. This is only until the real lead teacher come back in mid January. Things had been pretty smooth until this point. The lead teacher has over 20 years of experience and was giving me lots of helpful advice. I did not realize how much more it is to be the lead in a classroom. I knew there was lesson plans to be done but just mentally knowing you are the sole person responsible for your room and everything that goes on in it, is a real mental kicker. All those litte things that I did not understand why she did, I do now. They seemed silly at the time but are real life savers now. It is so exciting to get to do it during the holidays but also very stressful. Thankfully I have a great woman assisting me who has great ideas and brings stuff for arts and crafts. I am very grateful to her. I also want to be able to copy all of my lead teacher’s papers to add to my own collection but there is so much that it would be way to expensive to scan and copy it all. Maybe I will just scan it all and copy it to a disk. So I am giving a shout out to all the new teachers out there and to just take it one day at a time. Happy Holidays everyone!
Photoshop
July 2, 2008I am trying to learn photoshop skills beginning with making a header for my blog. I can do very basic things but trying to learn more through this next task. I find it difficult to tap into my creativity for stuff like this. Maybe doing this can help that skill also.
Guest Blog from Erin
June 30, 2008Thanks to 20s Blog Swap, here is a guest blogger, Erin. Thanks Erin for the blog. You can find my guest blog on her page from the link below. Take Care everyone.
Find Erin’s Blog at Stateiamin
Hi Everyone! It’s Erin here from over at The State I Am In. I’m posting here today as part of the 20sb blog swap.
Since we don’t know each other very well, I thought I’d share some random bits of information about myself:
• I love to read. I read everything from Children’s Lit. to African History. Interested in what I’m reading? Visit my Goodreads page.
• I think that whoever invented TV on DVD is a genius. Some of my favorite shows to watch over and over again are Gilmore Girls, Buffy, and Bones.
• I have two dogs, Rufus and Kaya. They are each lucky enough to earn a post a week on my blog.
• I’m a Target junkie. Well, who isn’t, right?
• I love shoes like any woman, but unlike most women, my shoe obsession really didn’t take hold until this year.
• My favorite foods include cheese, potatoes, chocolate, and salad.
• I can touch my tongue with my nose.
There you have it. Utter randomness about me. That’s generally what my blog consists of, so if it sounds at all intriguing, feel free to stop by some time and say hello!
RSS
June 27, 2008I always saw the RSS feed button and never understood it. I understood it meant subscribe, but how? Then I discovered this amazing site called common craft. Looking around I found a video called RSS in Plain English. I got so excited, finally, I also can learn about RSS. It explained it really well and simple enough to understand. It is a great tool to have and so I am going to share it also.
Car Kit
June 21, 2008My Verizon phone keeps going into car kit mode and I cant stop it. Ive tried every option possible except for taking it to verizon. I do not have a blue tooth to use or anything, just the phone. My sister is coming home tomorrow to visit! Yay! Its really nice outside today again, its been great. Ive got a lot of creative projects started to do and its all very exciting. The family cook book i realize is going to take a long time to do, trying to figure out who’s recipes they all are but it is a great idea. I am also going to develop my skills of prioritizing my life and doing things that need to get done first instead of things I consider more fun. This is a very important skill to master. I am very good at making to do list, its actually doing them thats the part I fail to do. Organizing makes me happy because it creates order and my mind finds it pleasing more than clutter and chaos. My mother and sister are the opposite of me in that way, not saying they like chaos, but don’t mind clutter and uneven lines and such. I think it is a main reason they can be so creative, think outside the box. Can order and organization inspire creativity? I don’t think in the same way. I need to develop my creativity. It is seriously lacking these days. I am not saying I need to paint or draw better, it would be nice, but that I need more ideas, such as images to put on my blog. That ability to me is so great to have. Looking for ways to develop my right brain should be of some help. Also just practice is good. Lets just hope it works.
